Prof. Karel von Eschwege

Prof. Von Eschwege did his PhD on the syntheses, spectroscopy and structural work related to photo-active compounds in the porphyrin and dithizone classes. Since then he published and expanded this field of work significantly, also involving photo-catalysts, femtosecond spectroscopy and a variety of other instrumental techniques.  Recently he was co-founder of a business unit at UFS-Chemistry for the R&D and production of pharmaceuticals to help supply in the African market where available quantities of certain basic medications increasingly fails desperate needs.
